SCOTT CITY -- Genetta Blankenship Riley, 59, of Scott City died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at her home.
She was born Nov. 28, 1937, in Vendor, Ark., daughter of Simon David and Tilda Caroline Smith Farmer. She first married William Leroy Blankenship Dec. 2, 1955, in Benton. He died Oct. 10, 1963. She later married Leon Riley Nov. 25, 1967, at Canalou.
Riley lived at Sikeston 24 years, moving to Scott City in 1977. She worked at International Shoe Co. 11 years, and for the past 24 years was a home daycare provider. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Tech. Sgt. Ronnie Blankenship of Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.; a daughter, Cathy Blankenship of Sikeston; three brothers, William Farmer of Mineral Wells, Texas, Delbert Farmer of Van Buren, Walter Farmer of Sikeston; a sister, Geneva Freeman of Sikeston; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three half brothers and a half sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with Pastor Vic Van Schaik officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
