JONESBORO, Ill. -- Eugene "Gene" Moore, 74, of Jonesboro died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at his home. He was born July 30, 1924, in Leslie, Mich., son of George Washington and Hazel Irene Wasness Moore. JONESBORO, Ill. -- Eugene "Gene" Moore, 74, of Jonesboro died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at his home.
He was born July 30, 1924, in Leslie, Mich., son of George Washington and Hazel Irene Wasness Moore.
Moore had been a telephone lineman, and member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a son, Donald Moore of Jonesboro; and a brother, Donald Moore of Ramona, Calif.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at National Cemetery in Mound City. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 3455.
Hileman and Parr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
