JACKSON, Mo. -- Herbert Gene Illers, 67, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 7, 1933, at Cooter, Mo., son of Herbert and Dorothy Dean Creed Illers. Illers spent most of his life on the family farm near Jackson. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He attended a school for the handicapped in St. Louis several years...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Herbert Gene Illers, 67, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 7, 1933, at Cooter, Mo., son of Herbert and Dorothy Dean Creed Illers.

Illers spent most of his life on the family farm near Jackson. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He attended a school for the handicapped in St. Louis several years.

Survivors include a sister, Lou Taylor of Kanorado, Kan.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church after 10 a.m. Thursday.

Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
