Gene Hodges Sr.

ARNOLD, Mo. -- Gene A. Hodges Sr., 72, of Arnold passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015.

Gene was born Aug. 4, 1943, in Ocean Port, New Jersey, to Arthur and Anna May Cagle Hodges.

He was a proud army veteran who served SP4(T) from March 9, 1964, to March 3, 1967.

Gene was an engineer at Procter & Gamble for over 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars.

He is survived by two sons, Sonny (Lea-Ana) Hodges of Arnold and Scott (Diana) Hodges of O'Fallon, Missouri; two daughters, Jenny Cain of Nebraska and Brandy Hodges of O'Fallon; two brothers, David and Robert Hodges both of Cairo, Illinois; a sister, Kathy Hood of Cairo; as well as six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both his parents.

A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. Friday at the VFW in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Kutis South County Chapel in St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
