ANNA, Ill. -- Gene F. "Frank" Williams, 49, of Anna died Friday, March 14, 1997, at St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro. He was born July 21, 1947, at Anna, son of Harry Eugene and Dorothy Ray Williams. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member and past commander of the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna. He was employed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources at the Little Grassy Lake Fish Hatchery...

ANNA, Ill. -- Gene F. "Frank" Williams, 49, of Anna died Friday, March 14, 1997, at St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.

He was born July 21, 1947, at Anna, son of Harry Eugene and Dorothy Ray Williams.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member and past commander of the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna. He was employed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources at the Little Grassy Lake Fish Hatchery.

Survivors include a daughter, Chantelle Richardson of Titusville, Fla.; a son, Frankie Joe Williams of Anna; his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Harry Wood of Anna; two sisters, Sue and Darla Williams, both of Springfield, Ill.; a half-sister, Jayne Jones of Anna; a stepbrother, Greg Wood of Anna; a stepsister, Pam Stout of Anna; and a grandchild.

Funeral service will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. John Cripps officiating. Interment will be in the Anna cemetery, with graveside military honors by the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m at the funeral home.
