Gene M. Blumenberg, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at his farm in Whitewater.
He was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Cape Girardeau to Albert and Amanda Deneke Blumenberg. He and Virginia Gray were married Jan. 26, 1962, in Cape Girardeau.
He served two years in the Army.
He farmed for a few years and worked at McDonald Concrete for 34 years.
He was a member of Cape First Church of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana Edwards of Thebes, Illinois, and a sister, Maxine Frederick of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; a son, Daniel Blumenberg; a son-in-law, Gene Edwards; three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will follow at noon Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating. Burial will be at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gordonville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Teen Challenge International Mid-America.
