MATTHEWS -- Gay Cagle, 73, of Matthews died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Harviell, Ark., daughter of Tom Shaw and Annie Laura Barnes Woodson. She and Melvin Cagle were married March 25, 1944, in Essex.
Cagle moved to Matthews six years ago from Canalou.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Terry Cagle of Dexter, Tommy Cagle of Swansboro, N.C., Timothy Cagle of Matthews; two daughters, Ann Johnson of Cape Girardeau and Lula Boshell of Oran.
Also surviving are two brothers, Avery Woodson of Morehouse, Richard Woodson of Christmas, Fla.; three sisters, Wanda Copeland of Arab, Ala., Sibyl Wilson and Mildred Stroud of Morehouse; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Jerry Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
