SIKESTON, Mo. -- Gary Lee McClain, 59, of Sikeston died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at his home. He was born May 16, 1944, in Mississippi County, son of J.C. and Lillian Earline Delk McClain. SIKESTON, Mo. -- Gary Lee McClain, 59, of Sikeston died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at his home.

He was born May 16, 1944, in Mississippi County, son of J.C. and Lillian Earline Delk McClain. He and Paula Segraves were married June 16, 1962.

McClain lived in Mississippi and Scott counties most of his life. He was a 1963 graduate of Kelly High School at Benton, Mo.

He had worked at Bob Ralph Distributing Co. in Sikeston 30 years, and was currently general manager. He was a former co-owner of Hawthorne Campground and Canoe Rental in Van Buren, Mo.

McClain was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church, Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310, was a Shriner and member of Moolah Temple in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Shawn McClain of Charleston, Mo.; a daughter, Tricia Keefer of Sikeston; three brothers, Gerald and Don McClain of Charleston, Carl McClain of Sikeston; four sisters, Freida Woodruff of LaCenter, Ky., Wanda Stark of Charleston, Rayola Graves of Benton, Margaret McKinney of Charleston; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Vester officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery near Morley, Mo.
