Mr. Gary Lee, 62, of Short North Wall Street, Calhoun, Ga., departed this life Friday evening, Oct. 20, 2006, at his home. Mr. Lee was born Jan. 12, 1944, in Bollinger County, Mo., a son of the late George Robert and Beulah Burton Davis Lee. He was a member of the Calhoun First United Methodist Church. Mr. Gary Lee, 62, of Short North Wall Street, Calhoun, Ga., departed this life Friday evening, Oct. 20, 2006, at his home.

Mr. Lee was born Jan. 12, 1944, in Bollinger County, Mo., a son of the late George Robert and Beulah Burton Davis Lee.

He was a member of the Calhoun First United Methodist Church. Prior to becoming ill, he was a local floral designer. In 1984, he received the Designer of the Year award in Georgia.

Mr. Lee leaves behind his loving wife, to whom he married June 20, 1984, Debra Clark Lee of the residence; daughters, Penny Lee, Angie Lee, both of St. Louis, and Rebecca Slayton of Donovan, Mo.; sons, Gary Lee Jr., of St. Louis, Ronnie Lee and William Leonard Lee, both of Springfield, Mo.; sisters, Lillie McQuen of Moorcroft, Wy., and Christine Woodworth; brothers, Otis Lee, the Rev. Alvis Lee, all of Marble Hill, and Gerald Edward Lee of Illinois; special aunt and uncle, Kate and Lonzo Davis of East Prairie, Mo.; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. today at the Ponders Funeral Home in Calhoun, Ga.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Gary Lee will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Clark and Rev. Jon Ponders officiating.
