A memorial service for Gary Joe Voelker, 1405 Mississippi, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First Church of God. The Rev. Randy Wright will officiate.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Voelker, 55, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Sept. 2, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, son of William F. and Eugenia Evans Voelker. He and Janet F. Bippus were married April 14, 1961, in San Francisco, Calif.
Voelker graduated from Joseph Bulova School of Watchmaking in Long Island, N.Y., in 1959. He owned and operated Voelker Jewelry Store here from 1970-77. In 1984 he was ordained a Church of God minister in North Platte, Neb., and pastor there two and-a-half years. Voelker was a member of First Church of God, and was a volunteer worker at Southeast Hospital.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jaxene Budovec of Albuquerque, N.M., Crystal Williams of Winter Haven, Fla., and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
