Gary Hughes

SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Gary Eugene Hughes, 65, of Sedgewickville passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, at his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Leadwood, Mo., son of Loman Lee and Mary Redith Coffman Hughes.

Hughes was a self-employed recycler and attended the New Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sons, Joseph David Hughes of Monahans, Texas, Gary Eugene Hughes Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, and Chris Wayne Hughes of Sedgewickville; daughters, Patricia Ann Johnson of Marquand, Mo., and Jamie Gayle Hughes of Sedgewickville; brother, Steve LaPlant of Hillsboro, Mo.; sister, Loma Storey of Shobonier, Ill.; special friend Sherry Hicks of Granite City, Ill.; and 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Poole officiating. Interment will be in Leadwood Protestant Cemetery near Leadwood.
