PORTLAND, Tenn. -- Gary Wayne Hamlett, 65, of Portland, formally of Oran, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was born Dec. 8, 1952, in Cape Girardeau to the late Finis and Dessie Wood Hamlett. He and Linda Brown married Dec. 6, 2011, and she preceded him in death.
Gary was a retired owner/operator of RV Repair in New Deal, Tennessee.
He is survived by two sons, Barry Davis of Gallatin, Missouri and Eric Davis of New Deal, Tennessee; a brother, Gerald Hamlett of Versailles, Missouri; two step-daughters, Tracey and Sonja; three sisters, Barbara (James) Alexander of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; Shirley Casey of Niles, Michigan; Alice Adams of Detroit, Michigan; four grandchildren, Ayla, Orion, Shaylyn and Cassandra Davis; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Mateo Cruz; a step-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda, his loving wife, will be buried with him.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Jane Hamlett; a brother; and three sisters.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. until noon Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
Funeral service will be at noon Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Hamlett officiating. Burial will be at Friend Cemetery in Oran.
