PERKINS, Mo. -- Gary Wayne Burns, 59, of Perkins died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 11, 1949, at Dexter, Mo., son of John Albert and Myrtle Lorene Tyson Burns. He married Audrey C. Whittley Aug. 19, 1967. She preceded him in death July 26,1983. He and Wanda Lou Bickings were married Feb. 18, 1984.
David was a laborer, heavy equipment operator and truck driver for Perkins Motor Works in Perkins.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Wayne (Holly) Burns II of Advance, Mo., Jonathan Burns of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Laura (Larry) Wade of Advance; four grandchildren, Aubrey Wade, Audrey Burns, Talley Burns and Whittley Burns.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bill Sargent officiating. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery at Morley, Mo.
