Gary Wayne Bentley, 80 of Chaffee died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at his home.
He was born July 8, 1944, in Chaffee to Ardello and Lucille Riehn Bentley. He was to married Rheta Winonia Bentley for 36 years, and she preceded him in death. He later married Joyce Ann Sample on July 20, 2012.
He graduated from Chaffee High School in 1962 and was a lifelong resident. He was employed by Power & Control Associates and Procter & Gamble for 42 plus years as senior mechanical fabricator. He was a member of the General Baptist Church in Chaffee. Gary was a lifelong gospel musician, playing guitar for the Soul Crusaders. He led his life witnessing to others and being an advocate for God.
Gary is survived by his wife, Joyce Bentley; sons, Tim (April) Bentley of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Gary Lynn (Theresa) Bentley of Commerce and Stephen (Crystal) Bentley of Chaffee; two daughters, Cheryl Lucey of Chaffee and Becky Miller of Jackson; two sisters, Lawanda Talley and Bonnie Sadler; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Lincoln; a daughter, Kim Helt; four brothers, Billy Lee, Glenn, Bob and Danny Bentley; three sisters, Wilma Jean Hanlon, Thelma Jackie Mansker and Mabel Kinder; and a grandson, Brandon Bentley.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at the General Baptist Church in Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at the church, with the Rev. Jim Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
