Garnet Ledbetter

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Garnet Wilson Ledbetter, 79, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at his home.

He was born June 16, 1922, in Rosiclare, Ill., son of Grover and Mollie McClusky Ledbetter. He and Julia Elizabeth Griffith were married in 1944 in Rosiclare. She died June 22, 1969.

Ledbetter worked in construction and was a member of Operators Local 318 in Pontiac, Mich.

Survivors include four daughters, Cindy Craig of Stonefort, Ill., Sherri Scott of Daytona Beach, Fla., Carroll Cunningham of Cape Girardeau, Missy Ledbetter of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter, a brother and a sister.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
