Galvin Dillingham

Galvin Lloyd Dillingham, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at his home.

He was born April 14, 1921, at Neelys Landing, son of William Sherman and Floyd Abernathy Dillingham. He and Jewel Clifton were married July 20, 1940, in Cape Girardeau. She died April 27, 2002.

Mr. Dillingham was a truck driver more than 40 years with Cauble and Field Co. He was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men and a former choir member.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II from 1943 to 1946.

He was a wonderful father and grandfather to a son, Tim Dillingham and wife Lisa of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Carolyn I. Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, Diane Taylor and husband Tom of Cape Girardeau; and a granddaughter, Megan Dillingham of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and a grandchild, Christopher Marshall Dillingham.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery with full military rites by Missouri Honor Team.
