THEBES, Ill. -- Gale Leeward Follis, 67, of Thebes died Monday, April 10, 2006, at his home.
He was born May 18, 1938, at Wolf Lake, Ill., son of Seaward William and Dolleva Kimmel Follis. He married Charlotte Larson.
Follis was a chief engineer with a school district.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Johnny Mulvanny and Keith Follis of Port Charlotte, Fla., Rush Follis of Delavan, Wis.; nine daughters, Tamara Schmidt of Elkhorn, Wis., Theresa Driscoll of Baldwin, Wis., Kelly Follis of Sharon, Wis., Cimberly Bottensack of Delavan, Gale Follis of Burlington, Wis., Tina Gibbs of Minnipole, Minn., Jeanette Sadoski of Las Vegas, Nev., Bernadette Muriella of Farmington, Minn., and Stephanie Bowden of Apple Valley, Minn.
Also surviving is a brother, Rodney Smith of Round Hill, Ky.; six sisters, Myrna Clark of Bremer, Ala., Sherly Hodges of Orangevale, Calif., Ladonna Turner of Pittsburg, Ill., Janet Beall of Vandalia, Ill., Sherry Moran of Pittsboro, N.C., Sharon Alford of Morgantown, Ky.; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ill.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rodney Smith officiating. Entombment will be in Jonesboro Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna, Ill.
