CAIRO, Ill. -- Elizabeth Gail Craver Wong, 72, of Monrovia, California, formerly of Cairo, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, California.
She was born Aug. 27, 1942, in Cairo, to M.L. "Dutch" and Margaret Dean Craver.
Gail moved to California in 1962 and later became employed by Westinghouse Elevator Corp. She continued her employment with Schindler Elevator, where she was an estimator and before her retirement in 2002 was office manager.
She was a member of Arcadia Women's Club, Alpha Auxiliary of the Methodist Hospital Foundation, and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cairo.
Survivors include a brother, John W. Craver of Monrovia; a sister, Eleanor (Tootie) Newton of Cairo; a nephew, D. Bradley (Tammy) Newton of Midlothian, Texas; a niece, Dana E. Newton of Cairo; four great-nephews; and a great-great-niece.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time today at Crain Funeral Home in Cairo.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Interment will be in American Legion Cemetery in Dongola, Illinois.
