POMONA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Gail Stuart Barfuss, Pomona Route 1, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Unitarian Fellowship Church in Carbondale. The Rev. Wes Henson will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.

Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home at Anna is in charge of arrangements.

Barfuss, 42, died Sunday, June 11, 1995, from injuries received in a car accident near Alto Pass.

She was born Feb. 4, 1953, in St. Paul, Minn., daughter of Carl and Jane Montief Barfuss. She and Tom Fromme were married in September 1978 in St. Paul.

Barfuss was a registered nurse with Hospice of Southern Ilinois. She had previously worked with Southern Seven Health Department, Rural Health Clinic, and St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro.

She had just received a master's degree in rehabilitation from Southern Illinois University. She also had served with the Peace Corps in Guatemala.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Emily Anleu and Claire Fromme of Pomona; a sister, Anne Conley of St. Paul, and a brother, Carl Barfuss of St. Paul.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
