G. RAY HITT

ADVANCE -- George Ray Hitt, 63, of Advance, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 3, 1929, at Arbor, son of Arthur A. and Sarah Morland Hitt. He and Marjean McLane were married June 26, 1971, in Advance.

Hitt was a retired farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church and VFW Post 7750. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Ray McLane of Advance; a stepdaughter, Gloria Cummins of DuQuoin, Ill.; seven sisters, Juanita Myers of Chaffee, Mary Schubert of Jackson, Elizabeth O'Neal, Jane O'Connell and Clara Phillips of Cape Girardeau, Anna Ashcraft of Overland Park, Kan., Shirley Bohnert of Oak Ridge, and a stepgrandson.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. The Revs. Clinton Woodfin and Bob Bradford will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park.
