MARBLE HILL -- F.X. Peters, 65, of Marble Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1993, at his home.
He was born June 28, 1927, at Leopold, son of Theodore Joseph and Catherine Hinkebein Peters. He and Martha Brands were married Oct. 15, 1949.
Peters was founder of Peters and Sons Co. Inc., and was a senior alderman at Marble Hill. He was a member of RCGA, active in development of Marble Hill VIP, and was past president of Bollinger County Chamber of Commerce.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, St. Isadore KC Council 5898, was a 4th Degree member and first grand knight of Council 5898, member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post at Jackson, and past district deputy of Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Greg and Bill Peters of Marble Hill; two daughters, Vickie Hamilton of Harrisonville, Cathy McClard of Marble Hill; five brothers, Ambrose, Januar, Ted and Mark Peters of Marble Hill, Matthew Peters of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Sister Marie Peters, SSND, of St. Louis, Margie Eftink of Marble Hill, Bonnie Diebold of Martin, Tenn., and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel and Deacon Mike Lee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 5900 at Marble Hill.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 and KC rosary at 8.
