Frieda Emma Reisenbichler, 93, of New Wells passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born May 29, 1924, in Frohna, Missouri, to Otto and Amanda Feiste Grebing. Frieda was baptized, confirmed and married at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna and also attended the church's grade school.
Frieda and Raymond Carl Reisenbichler were married Oct. 14, 1945. After their marriage, they became active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells, where Frieda was active in LWML, formerly taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir.
They had been married 33 years when Raymond passed away Oct. 24, 1978.
Frieda did housekeeping for families in the Cape Girardeau area. She took great pleasure in being with her family, especially her grandchildren, and she also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, quilting and cooking for family gatherings.
Loving survivors include four children, Carol Odom and Connie Ressel of Jackson, Kevin (Jane) Reisenbichler of New Wells and Donna (Gary) Bock of Pocahontas; a brother, Clarence (Mildred) Grebing of Frohna; eight grandchildren, Tonya Odom (Jerry) Menz, Christopher (Amber) Odom, Nicholas (Steffi) Ressel, Grant (Kristi) Ressel, Lauren Ressel (Mike) Heritage, Eric Bock, Brandon (Katelyn) Bock and Adam Reisenbichler; and seven great-grandchildren, Dylan and Dawson Menz, Colton and Maddie Odom, Liah and Kilian Ressel and Ellie Bock.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tricia Odom; sister, Norma Meyr; an infant sister, Wilma Grebing; and two stepsisters, Gertrude Wachter and Norma Snell.
The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Lawrence Bradt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.
