Frieda A. Lewis, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 19, 2008, at Life Care Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Cleveland, daughter of Charles W. and Flora Mae Klar Rose. She and Russell E. Lewis were married May 3, 1943, in Brownwood, Texas. He died Dec. 5, 1989.
Lewis was a seamstress at Buckner-Ragsdale Department Store in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Episcopal Church Women, and had been a Sunday school teacher, choir member and vestry member. She had also been a Cub Scout den mother.
Survivors include a daughter, Verbal Walter of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Darrell Lewis of Arvada, Colo., Merrill Lewis of Blaine, Minn., Russell Lewis of Cape Girardeau; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
There is no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Stephen Bergmann, the Rev. Patricia Williams and Gerald Jones officiating.
