JACKSON, Mo. -- Frieda Nora Grosswiler, 88, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 6, 1912, at Oak Ridge, Mo., daughter of Arthur and Matilda Kaufman Petzoldt. She and George Ray Grosswiler were married Sept. 11, 1940. He died March 21, 1996...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Frieda Nora Grosswiler, 88, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 6, 1912, at Oak Ridge, Mo., daughter of Arthur and Matilda Kaufman Petzoldt. She and George Ray Grosswiler were married Sept. 11, 1940. He died March 21, 1996.

Grosswiler attended nursing school. She had been a nurse at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis, Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, and retired as a nurse at Oak Ridge Schools in 1976. She moved to Jackson in 1992 from Oak Ridge.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ at Fruitland, Mo.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Aubuchon of St. Louis, Joyce Grosswiler of Copenhagen, Denmark; a son, Paul Grosswiler of Bangor, Maine; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister, and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David E. Schaffner officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at Fruitland.
