NEW WELLS, Mo. -- Frieda E. Fiedler, 85, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Walter Patzwitz will officiate. NEW WELLS, Mo. -- Frieda E. Fiedler, 85, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Walter Patzwitz will officiate. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Egypt Mills, Mo.

Mrs. Fiedler was born Sept. 12, 1916, near Egypt Mills, daughter of Jacob and Maria Kistner Rubel. She and Melvin Arthur Fiedler were married May 18, 1952, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. He passed away Nov. 28, 1993.

Loving survivors include a granddaughter, Stacy Groves of Mounds, Ill.; a grandson, Dennis Clark of Olive Branch, Ill.; a stepgranddaughter, Tammy Braden of Carterville, Ill.; a son-in-law, Glen Snyder of Olive Branch; three great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Snyder, on Dec. 24, 2001; and also seven brothers, and a sister.

Mrs. Fiedler was a former Sunday School teacher and member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at New Wells. Mrs. Fiedler attended the Lutheran school near Egypt Mills and Egypt Mills High School.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund at Egypt Mills or Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund at New Wells.
