ADVANCE, Mo. -- Frieda R. Bitterman, 89, of Advance passed away June 30, 2021, at the Advance Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 24, 1931, in Advance, the daughter of Denzil and Etta Garner Miller. Frieda and Paul Bitterman were united in marriage on Aug. 13, 1953, and he preceded her in death May 28, 2017...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Frieda R. Bitterman, 89, of Advance passed away June 30, 2021, at the Advance Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 24, 1931, in Advance, the daughter of Denzil and Etta Garner Miller. Frieda and Paul Bitterman were united in marriage on Aug. 13, 1953, and he preceded her in death May 28, 2017.

Frieda took pride in being a homemaker. She was a member of the Advance United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Randy (Patty) Bitterman of Advance; two brothers, Vernon (Eilene) Miller of Jackson and Hershel (Barbara) Miller of Cape Girardeau; a grandson, Derek Massa; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. July 9 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Jerry Willer officiating.

Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.
