THEBES, Ill. -- Fredrick A. "Fred" Petzoldt, 75, of Thebes passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, at his home.
He was born July 22, 1939, at Fruitland, son of William and Mary Heider Petzoldt.
Fred was a volunteer fireman and former fire chief for the village of Thebes and was a maintenance employee for the village of Thebes many years.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Storm Petzoldt; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Mary Petzoldt of Thebes; five grandchildren, Kerri Petzoldt, Kelly Martin, Jeffery (Megan) Petzoldt, Cheyenne and Dakota Petzoldt; four great-grandchildren, Seth Elbrecht, Kaden Petzoldt, Tianna Rush and Preslee Petzoldt; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elda Barns of Jackson and Wilma (Bill) Stone of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Illinois.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.
