Frederick W. "Pat" Sargent, 85, formerly of Saunemin and Pontiac, Illinois, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Shannon, Illinois, son of Howard and Beatrice Corbett Sargent. Pat was raised in the Methodist Church and was a 1947 graduate of Saunemin High School. Frederick W. "Pat" Sargent, 85, formerly of Saunemin and Pontiac, Illinois, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Shannon, Illinois, son of Howard and Beatrice Corbett Sargent.

Pat was raised in the Methodist Church and was a 1947 graduate of Saunemin High School. He received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign. He was employed in the agriculture industry most of his career.

He is survived by a brother, Don (Betty) Sargent of Cape Girardeau, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Phil Sargent.

A graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 16 at Sunnyslope Cemetery in Saunemin, with the Rev. Jane Bradford officiating.
