JACKSON -- Freddie W. Stoffregen, 69, passed away Monday, May 15, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call today from 5-8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery. Jerry Culbertson and Gerald Cowan will officiate.

Mr. Stoffregen was born Dec. 1, 1930, son of Albert and Frieda Allensworth Stoffregen. He and Gelena Culp were married Oct. 20, 1950.

Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Fred J. and Beth Stoffregen of Fredericktown; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon and Wally Eck of Jackson, Karen and Joe Kight of Jackson, Claudia Stoffregen of Jackson; two brothers, Albert Stoffregen of Morehouse, Bob Stoffregen of Delta; four sisters, Dorothy Kelly, Evelyn Nussbaum and Barbara Swindell of Delta, Linda McIntosh of East Prairie; six grandchildren, Chad Smith, Amanda Sneathen, Josh, Jake and Jenny Stoffregen, Casey Kight; two great-grandsons, Zachary and Tallon Smith.

Mr. Stoffregen graduated from Delta High School in 1949. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1951-55 in active duty and from 1955-59 in the Air Force Reserves.

He was an offset printer with Missouri Litho and Printing in Cape Girardeau 27 years. He also worked at Concord Printing in Cape Girardeau, and retired in 1993 from Milligan Printing Co. in Sikeston. He then worked two years at the Missouri Department of Conservation Office in Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Stoffregen was a member of the Jackson Church of Christ building committee, served as an ordained deacon many years, was a former church treasurer, and Sunday School teacher of the Junior High Class. He was an avid fisherman and sportsman.
