Freda McBride, 82, of Scott City died at her home Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at 7:52 a.m.
She was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Chaffee, Mo., daughter of Earl and Anna Mae Redfern Sanders. She and Emmett McBride Jr. were married Aug. 9, 1942, in Chaffee. He died May 23, 2002.
She worked at Sports Specialty Shoe Co. in Chaffee before moving to Cape Girardeau in 1955, where she and her husband owned and operated Viaduct Court later known as Terrace Inn. She worked as a clerk for Weight Watchers many years before retiring. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Fruitland.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Toby) Moyers of Scott City; two sons, Lynn ( Mary) McBride of Cape Girardeau, Danny B. (Wanda) McBride of Scott City; two sisters-in-law, Faye Sanders of Chaffee, Joyce Sanders of Gainsville, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
There is no visitation.
A public memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the gazebo in Lightner Cemetery, Joe Chesser officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Fruitland Church of Christ.
