Funeral Mass for Freda Josephine Burger, 2503 Fairlane, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. The Rev. Joe Williams will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Burger, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born March 24, 1908, at Oran, daughter of Frank and Sophie Goetz Heisserer. She and Fred P. Burger were married Jan. 8, 1929, in St. Louis. He died May 14, 1981.
The Burgers owned and operated Compas Hardware and then Burger Hardware in Kelso 35 years. They moved to Cape Girardeau 40 years ago from Kelso. She was a member of St. Vincent's Church and its Catholic Women.
Survivors include a son, David Burger of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Wanda Drury of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Cornelius Heisserer of Chaffee, George Heisserer of St. Louis; three sisters, Lorena Pobst and Ethel Schlosser of Oran, Viola Dannenmueller of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, two sisters, and a grandchild.
