Fred H. Stewart Jr., 74, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Landmark Hospital.

He was born May 5, 1939, in Kingsport, Tenn., to Fred Horton and Lydia Emery Stewart Sr.

Fred graduated from high school in Johnson City, Tenn., and from DeVry University in Chicago. He and Jacqueline R. "Jackie" Richardson were married March 13, 1965, in St. Louis.

Fred was owner/operator of Central TV in St. Louis more than 30 years. He worked on taxi cab radios, TVs and radios. He was a recreational airplane pilot and built airplanes in his back yard. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include wife Jacqueline R. "Jackie" Stewart of Cape Girardeau; daughter Beverly (Shawn) Fleming of St. Louis; sons James L. (Kim) Stewart of St. Louis, Steven L. (Shelly) Penny of Cape Girardeau, John M. (Carol) Stewart of O'Fallon, Mo., Allen R. Stewart of Arnold, Mo., David R. (Julie) Stewart of Foristell, Mo., and Harry R. (Michelle) Stewart of Arnold; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two expected great-grandchildren on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harry R. Stewart, who died in Vietnam.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
