Fred B. Pierce, 85, of Salem, Ill., died Monday, May 15, 2006, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ill.
He was born July 5, 1920, in Marble Hill, Mo., son of Ora and Carrie Bollinger Pierce. He and Alpha M. Hogg were married Jan. 30, 1943, in Perkins. He was formerly of Bell City, Mo.
Pierce was a retired farmer, and a member of Salem Moose Club.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronald Pierce of Franklinton, La.; a daughter, Joyce Raver of Salem; a brother, Charles Pierce of Palatine, Ill.; a sister, Frieda Limbaugh of Cape Girardeau; four granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Rankin Funeral Home in Salem from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. Robert Raver officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Salem.
