LOWNDES, Mo. -- Fred Moen, 82, of Lowndes died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 30, 1921, in Swiney, Texas, son of Joe and Jenny Couch Moen. He and Berniece Duniphan were married Jan. 12, 1944. She died in 1988.
Moen had been a farmer, timber worker and heavy equipment operator.
He was a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Evans of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sandra Bacon of Jackson; three brothers, Amund Moen of Lewistown, Pa., Joe Moen of Lowndes, Robert Moen of Piedmont, Mo.; six sisters, Celita Henderson of Columbia, Ill., Mary Whitley of Mineral Point, Mo., Rosie Duniphan of Rogus, Ark., Evelyn Case of Walnut Hill, Ill., Betty Salsbury of Belleville, Ill., Bonnie Long of Cahokia, Ill.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo., from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in McGee New Hope Cemetery at McGee, Mo.
