Fred Masters, 89, of 1060 Stewart, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1993, at the Lutheran Home. He was born July 25, 1904, at Laflin, son of John and Laura Poston Masters. He and Dessie Pearl Poston were married Jan. 23, 1926, in Jackson. Masters was a self-employed carpenter and plasterer, retiring in 1969. Fred Masters, 89, of 1060 Stewart, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1993, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born July 25, 1904, at Laflin, son of John and Laura Poston Masters. He and Dessie Pearl Poston were married Jan. 23, 1926, in Jackson.

Masters was a self-employed carpenter and plasterer, retiring in 1969. He was a member of First General Baptist Church and former deacon and Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include his wife, and a brother, Clarence Masters of Oak Ridge.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First General Baptist Church. The Revs. David Griesemer and Fred Poston will officiate, with burial in Bollinger County Memorial Park at Marble Hill.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
