Fred W. Kurre, 91, of Friedheim, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 13, 1912, in Oak Ridge, son of Ira O. and Linnie Kayser Kurre. He and Mary "Leona" Riehn were married Oct. 11, 1937, in Jackson.
Fred worked many years as a mechanic at Friedheim Garage, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Old Salem Methodist Church.
Loving survivors include his wife of Friedheim; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Clyde Bill Brune of Sedgewickville; a brother, Alonzo Kurre of Friedheim; two grandsons, Kurre "Douglas" Brune and wife Carolyn, and Stephen D. Brune and wife Angela, all of Sedgewickville; and four great-grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Courtney and Tyler Brune.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call between 4 and 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20, at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 21, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Calvin Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery near Daisy.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New Salem Cemetery or Old Salem Methodist Church.
