OLMSTED, Ill. -- Fred Killius, 85, of Olmsted passed away at 3:27 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Fred was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Olmsted, son of the late Carl and Arletta Kinslow Killius.
He was an avid commercial fisherman. His love for animals was only surpassed by his love for people. No man has ever done so much for so many with so little. He will be missed dearly and forever loved.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Bronson Killius; granddaughter, Jessica Hall; sisters, Martha, Kathleen and Erma; and brother, Jim.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Killius; children, Freddi "Nino" (Eddie) Woodruff, Bobby (Nancy) Killius, Glenda Cross (the late Frank E. Fraker), Kathy (Mark) Johnson and stepdaughter, Linda (Ron) Sanders; brothers, Wayne (Ruth) Killius, Gordon (Barbara) Killius, Walter "Pete" (Diane) Killius and Gene Killius (husband, Ralph); sisters, Maryann (Clifford) Westerman and Louise (Robert) Holley; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be at noon Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Illinois. Wayne Helton will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
