PUXICO -- Fred Alexander Harty, 88, of Puxico died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 21, 1911, at Puxico, son of Jim and Minnie Tankersley Harty. He and Bernice Smith were married Oct. 14, 1939, at Poplar Bluff.
A lifelong resident of Puxico, he was a retired livestock and row crop farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church near Puxico.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joyce Morris of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Adelline Dudley of Elsberry; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 7 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Rowland Duckett and Bruce Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Puxico Cemetery.
