Fred L. Carver, 74, of St. Louis passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Parkwood Skilled Nursing Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
He was born Dec. 30, 1942, in McGee, Missouri, the son of Jessie Edward and Irene Jaco Carver.
Fred retired after 25 years working for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the NRA and AARP. He loved hunting, fishing and camping.
Fred and Esther Beyatte were united in marriage Dec. 26, 1964, in McGee, and she preceded him in death June 26, 2003. Later he married Blanche Cole in October 2009, and she preceded him in death Aug. 28, 2010.
Survivors include two sons, Christopher Carver of St. Louis and Jessie Carver of Auxvasse, Missouri; two brothers, Floyd Carver of Robertsville, Missouri, and Wilford Carver of Cuba, Missouri; two sisters, Beulah Clubbs of Sullivan, Missouri, and Edna Sanders of Bloomfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Carver; a brother, Chester Carver; a sister, Vetadine Clubbs; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Terry Sanders. Burial will follow at New Hope McGee Cemetery in McGee, with full military rites.
