ANNA, Ill. -- Fred A. Tompkins, 85, of Anna, died Thursday, July 11, 1991, at 3:35 p.m. at the City Care Center in Anna.

He was born April 21, 1906 at Reynoldsville, Ill., the son of Thomas and Arabelle Bess Tompkins.

He married Gladys Norris on Dec. 2, 1926 in Jackson.

He was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church and was a retired fruit and vegetable broker.

Friends may call at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mitchell Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Anna Cemetery.
