PATTON -- Franklin V. Acord, 64, of Patton, formerly of Gipsy, died Friday, Dec. 9, 1994, at Glen Allen.
He was born Oct. 24, 1930, at Greenbrier, son of Carie and Lillie Simmers Acord.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Marines. He had worked at Inland Shoe Co. in Advance.
He is survived by two sons, David Acord of North Little Rock, Ark., Floyd Acord of Friendship, Ark.; six daughters, Phyllis Stout of Athens, Tenn., Thresia Statler and Sabrina Doublin of Patton, Janet Howard of Zalma, Pam Lindley of Glen Allen, Majorie Crites of Bloomfield; two sisters, Pauline Tolbert and Betty Hinkle of Greenbrier; 14 grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, with the Rev. Bob Porter officiating. Burial will be in Cato Cemetery near Arab, with military rites to be conducted.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
