EAST PRAIRIE -- Frankie Roe Jones, 54, formerly of East Prairie, died Saturday, March 1, 1997, in the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter after an extended illness. He was a resident of Westridge Residential Care Center in Sikeston.
He was born June 7, 1942, at Nash Bottoms in Cape Girardeau, son of Joe and Sadie Howton Jones. He lived most of his life in Mississippi County and was employed at the former Cornwells Station. He retired due to ill health.
Survivors include one daughter, Melinda Jones of Arnold; two brothers, Bob and Adolph Jones, both of East Prairie; two sisters, Peggy Falls of East Prairie and Barbara Jones of Murray, Ky.; two grandsons, six nephews, two nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. Bro. Richard Farquhar, pastor of Freewill Baptist Church, and Bro. George White, pastor of the First Baptist Church, both of East Prairie, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
