Frank L. West, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born April 6, 1933, at Robertsville, Mo., son of Ruben and Dora Lucinda Immekus West. He and Ruth Emily Mayo were married in 1956 at St. Louis. She died Nov. 30, 1978. He later married Terri Mayo Cooper in 1994 at Cape Girardeau.
West served with the U.S. Army Amphibious Assault Unit in the Far East Command from 1953 to 1955. He was employed in commercial and consumer lending most of his adult life. Due to poor health, he retired in 1983 as vice president of Mercantile Bank at Cape Girardeau. He was baptized in 1981 at First Christian Church at Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include one daughter, Andrea D. Strop of Cape Girardeau; one son, Ryan James West of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Minervia Hollis and Edith Cobb, both of Sullivan, Mo.; a special friend, Sharon Snell of Cape Girardeau; and one granddaughter, Emily Ruth Strop of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services and celebration will be at a later date.
