He was born Jan. 30, 1921, at Leopold, son of Gerhard and Anna Thele Vandeven. He and Florence Hass were married May 11, 1946.
Vandeven retired as a machinist at McDonnell Aircraft. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Francis Vandeven of St. Louis, Tom and Steven Vandeven of Chicago; a daughter, Linda Vandeven of Rolla; a brother, Edward Vandeven of Fenton; two sisters, Amelda Schreckengost of St. Louis, Dorothy Glastetter of Scott City; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville from 5-9 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Catholic Church in Belle. Burial will be in Owensville Cemetery.
