Frank Eldred Trenery, 78, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at the Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
He was born Feb. 8, 1921, at Kewanee, Ill., son of Guerdon E. and Marie L. Carpenter Trenery. He and Mary Ellen Hulshof were married June 10, 1967, at River Forest, Ill.
Trenery had served in the Army from 1942 until 1945. He was involved in World War II and the Korean War. Trenery also served 22 years in the Illinois National Guard. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska, and received a master's degree from Rosary College. He had taught at Northeastern, de Paul and Florida Atlantic universities. Trenery served as city librarian in Pompano Beach, Fla., until his retirement in 1983. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1994.
Survivors include his wife.
Arrangements are being handled by Ford & Sons Funeral Home.
