FRANK SMITH

WYATT -- Frank C. "Smokie" Smith, 61, of Wyatt died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at Sierra King District Hospital in Reedley, Calif.

He was born July 22, 1935, in Granite City, Ill., son of Frank Hoover and Ella Smith. He and Mildred Brown were married March 14, 1960. She died Feb. 16, 1995.

Smith was a retired truck driver. He had lived in Mississippi County the past 18 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Smith of Malvern, Ark., Glenn Smith of Sikeston, Frank Smith Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Mary Smith of Wyatt; two sisters, Denita Jackson of Fresno, Calif., Elsie Corbitt of Granite City; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, and two sisters.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at IOOF Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Bridges will officiate.

McMikle Funeral Home at Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
