SIKESTON -- William Frank Parker, 86, of Sikeston died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
He was born May 29, 1913, at Morley, son of William Albert and Ella Raglan Parker. He and Ruby C. Hitt were married Nov. 3, 1951. She died March 12, 1970. He and Mildred Oldham were married Sept. 21, 1973, in Sikeston. She died March 6, 1999. He attended Southeast Missouri State University and played on the university's football team. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army in central Europe during World War II. He was awarded three Bronze Stars for battles in Rome-Arno and Rhineland in central Europe. He worked as a foreman many years at the International Shoe Factory in Sikeston. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Jane Oldham Bess of Sikeston; a brother, Alfred Parker of Huntington, W.Va.; two sisters, Ada Johnson of Bridgeton and Dorothy Foister of Cape Girardeau; and a stepgranddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Tom Geers officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery at Morley.
