Samuel Frank Jenkins, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 20, 1946, in Cape Girardeau to Fred Louis and Annie Luvenia Runnels Jenkins.
Frank was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University until he was drafted into the Army. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970 and received medals for National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign, Army Commendation and Good Conduct.
He worked as a stock person for both Oglander's and Hecht's stores.
He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Charlotte (Terry) Wade and Peggy (Michael) Primm, both of Cape Girardeau; a nephew who stayed with him, Gregory Jenkins of Cape Girardeau; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will follow at noon Friday at the funeral home.
Burial with full military rites by the Missouri Honors Team will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. James A.M.E. Church/People's Shelter.
