Frank J. Compas, 86, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1991, at Cape LaCroix Nursing Center.
He was born April 17, 1905, at Kelso, son of Frank and Amelia Dunger Compas. He and Rose Knaup were married April 8, 1940, in Cape Girardeau.
Compas was a timekeeper at Marquette Cement Co. 46 years, retiring Jan. 1, 1970. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary, and a Third Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus Council 1111.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert Compas of Cape Girardeau, David Compas of Long Beach, Calif., Paul Compas of Kansas City; two sisters, Sisters Mary Helen Compas of Ruma, Ill., Sister Celeste Compas of Kelso, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Walter and Herman Compas.
Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Msgr. Richard Rolwing will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:30, and KC rosary at 8.
