Frank Heitman, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 in Houston, Texas. He was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Hannibal, Mo., to Benjamin Franklin Heitman and Edith Gardner Heitman.
He has been a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God for 47 years. On Aug. 26, 1950, he married Ruth Horstbrink. She preceded him in death. In the early years of their marriage, they served as missionaries to Venezuela and Puerto Rico. From 1952 until 1995 they served as pastors in St. Louis, Cassville, Mo., Advance, Mo., and Dexter, Mo.
He is survived by his wife, Bette; four children, Carol Heitman-Lucy and Linda Heitman of Cape Girardeau, Debra Heitman McKay of Dexter and the Rev. Ron Heitman of Chicago; three grandchildren: Nathan Mc-Kay, Makenna and Matison Heitman; and one great-grandchild, Will McKay. One daughter, Rebecca, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday, and the funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Ron Heitman will officiate. Private interment will be at Dexter Memorial Cemetery.
